Hey, you cute Irish kid,
Wish I could bet today.
Good luck!

Your book “May the horse be with you” just arrived today… I can’t put it down!! Fantastic book Peter!!!

I was on most of the day with you, but I must have been off when he called.. Dang it!
How old is he anyhow?
oh never mind.. He was born in 1926.. The coldest day ever..lol
You need to get on facebook. Derek Simon uses it.

Pete I’m very saddened to hear of your dad’s passing. It was great to meet him at Saratoga at his book signing in 2009.I listened to his radio shows since I was in high school and always enjoyed not only the music that he played but his banter between the songs. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Sincerely Rich Maida
Will you be doing your Euro videos for the breeders cup this year? I thought last years videos were extremely helpful… Thanks
Thanks for the kind words. I am probably too busy to do the videos this year. But I will be doing at previews for every Breeders Cup race. And of course i’ll be emphasizing the Europeans. Check back on the blog as we get closer to the bc. And feel free to ask me anything specific question in the comments.
I am somewhat of a Breeders Cup nerd. In 2004 I won a pretty big BC day contest known as the Ultimate Handicappers Invitational. A live money contest. I have adopted a strategy of only betting show on select BC races. You convinced me to bet Farrj last year and i got nearly 3-1 to show so I was quite happy. Also scored big on Perfect Shirl, Sweet Cat and Force Freeze. I speak to track clockers all over the conuntry as well as owners and trainers of BC entrants. I will gladly share what I know with you also. I have already spoken to Motion, McPeek and Ward about some of their horses that interest me as well as the clocker at Keeneland. I think the big angle that no one is talking about is the 10000 lb elephant in the room….Lasix ban on Juveniles and how it plays out. Hope to talk to you soon. – Cory
Awesome, I love that type of informed/feedback.
I’ve been fortunate this season on the blog with a couple of euro winners, I’m a dreamer in the Beverly d and nahrain I’m the flower bowl. I hope you were along for the ride.
Great point abt lasix, makes those races super tricky.
I really liked Nahrain who looked a beaten 4th midstretch to win. Don’t know tho what she can have left after that one. Especially after getting lasix for a second straight race and if she has to run against The Fugue. Last year in watching your vids I decided to play Farraj but decided to pass on Elusive Kate because a) i didnt like the way she bore out throughout the stretch and b) more importantly Gosden ONLY wins when he uses Dettorri. Buick never even hits the board for Gosden at BC.
Well, that might be somewhat misleading as Buick is a much younger guy and has only in the last couple of seasons become Gosden’s go to guy. Those two will win a BC race together soon. Nobody could have won with Elusive Kate that day as it turned out she was in season — if only I’d had that info before the race!!
Golden Tix out of Classic with lung infection. Javas war out of juvee turf with 103 temp. Mcpeek says “it all works out for the best. This is in the best interest of my horses.”
Are all the euros really going without lasix ??? Only Nahrain and Treasure Beach have it …Even St Nicholas Abbey isn’t getting it and he had it last year….Last 3 years Euros on turf WITHOUT lasix 1/19 in the money…Only 1 being a 3rd in Turf wit an even $ horse in a 7 horse field. WITH Lasix last 3 years 10 Euro winners……I just don’t see the point in running without it. Like running with one hoof tied behind your back.
