THURSDAY: Getting It Together

I am just going to be self-indulgent today and blog quickly about what I’ve been up to. Actually, it’s been a lot of going out to dinner. The leftovers from my birthday dinner have kept me from doing any cooking at the place, but as I’ve gotten tired of eating the same stuff (delicious as its been), I’ve been sampling the Saratoga dining scene.

Sunday night Susan and I walked in to Siro’s, which im pressed with its seafood, tomatoes, and decidedly un-Saratoga-like high-falutin’ professional service. Monday was Hattie’s with Matt, Adam, Mike and Alisa (I hope I spelled that right!). Wow, was it good. Got a great, breezy table outside on the patio and all ordered the same thing: fried chicken. Many laughs and Sierra Nevada Pale Ales were had. Tuesday was Sperry’s with John and the Clancy gang — making an ultra rare dinner time appearance having completed their fine work on the Saratoga Special early. It was an enjoyable meal with great service. We dined on the new patio, which was great, but I have to say that I missed saying hey to Frank the Bartender (but I know where to find him). Also notable at Sperry’s was the live music, which featured an instrumental trio who mixed blues and reggae with equal aplomb (apologies guys for the non-plug but I didn’t catch your name). Last night, John, Ken and I rolled down to Schenectady, to our own personal favorite old-school Italian place, Cornell’s. It’s basically red sauce heaven, with an amazing special to boot (four courses for $20). It’s well worth the drive.

My friends Ron and Kelly just arrived so I’m going to cut this short. But I’ll be back again tomorrow with something more substantial (I hope!) than what I’ve been eating. But hey, that’s life in a daily blog. . .

BANKROLL PLAY:

Race 9: $100 win on #1 FOURSEVENTEEN

There appears to be plenty of pace in here and this guy does his best running from off the pace. He was Flow and Bias compromised last time I thought and these are connections I feel good going into battle with (R-r-r-r-ramon and Tony D). And friends, it’s going to eb an outright war for me to get out on these bankroll plays. But two years back I accomplished something similiar and I’m not going down without a fight!

MEET TO DATE RESULTS: -$,1271.25 after our gutting second from Perfect Officer yesterday.
